Nash Bounce Back with Victory Over Moors

First-Half
The hosts started as they meant to go on when Glen Taylor laid the ball for Mark Anderson about twenty-five yards out, deflecting off Marcus Poscha, wrongfooting Cam Mason in the Nash goal as it sails into the bottom corner, 1-0.
The Nash were on the lookout for a quick response as Alex Kenyon wins the ball off Rob Ramshaw midway through the Moors half, with the ball bouncing for Jimmy Spencer, letting fly from distance but it does not trouble Michael Roxburgh too much.
Mark Anderson was around to cause more problems as he recycled a pass into the midfield for Sam Fielding who dribbles past Marcus Poscha then releases a low but powerful effort just wide of Cam Mason’s left post. Once again, the Moors were caught sleeping on the ball as Lebrun Mbeka takes a heavy touch allowing Jimmy Spencer to win the ball & play it through for Stefan Mols. However the ex-Warrington Town forward couldn’t beat the onrushing Michael Roxburgh, Jimmy Spencer attempts to chip to the back post but it’s easily cleared away.
Jimmy Spencer would once again be involved as he is played through this time by Craig Mahon, only to be pushed wide & release an easy enough effort for Michael Roxburgh to nullify. He would not be done terrorising the Moors defence within the first forty-five as he would rise highest on the end of a Jordan Richards early out swinging cross, but unable to keep his header down.
Will Harris would have his first proper involvement as he picks up the ball Rob Ramshaw in the middle of the park, drives past Marcus Poscha, unleashes an effort that bends just wide of the upright.
The Moors would have the ball in Curzon’s net again before the break barring the linesmen’s flag following Greg Taylor dinking Cam Mason just outside the six-yard box after being played through by Sam Fielding.
Half Time – Spennymoor Town 1 v 0 Curzon Ashton
Second-Half
The Nash would come out the break firing on all cylinders as Craig Mahon once again linked up with Jimmy Spencer as the ex-EFL striker had an effort from range, easily caught down low by Michael Roxburgh.
Moors would respond promptly however, as Mark Anderson picks up a loose ball outside the area, bending an effort towards the bottom left corner, only to be palmed away by Cam Mason.
The game would fall back into Curzon’s hands as an overhit corner would be recycled, cleared & struck back in by Will Hayhurst but not with the desired power he had hoped for. The ranged attack would become a theme of this clash as Isaac Sinclair played the ball to newly subbed-on Hayden Campbell about twenty-five yards out, only to drag his attempt wide.
Jordan Richards would have his attempt at goal only moments later as he latched onto an Isaac Sinclair cross from the left only to force a header wide.
The Nash would get their chance to equalise from the spot as Jordan Richards attempts to recycle his own cross, only to be brought down by Owen Gallacher just inside the box. It would be Will Hayhurst to step up, who had not missed a penalty all-season, and would continue this feat by firing low into the bottom corner, sending Michael Roxburgh the wrong way, 1-1.
Will Hayhurst would be the one to swing in the next opportunity for Nash as Devon Matthews meets his corner with intent into the ground & off the crossbar.
The stalemate wouldn’t last for long as Isaac Sinclair recovered the ball well on the halfway line, dribbled past Danny Greenfield, sprays the ball out wide for Jordan Richards, receives it back on the edge, unleashing a low driving effort first time into the bottom right corner, leaving Michael Roxburgh flapping at the ball as it flew past, 2-1.
Heroic defending would follow as Craig Mahon cuts onto his left inside the area, seeing his effort pushed away by Michael Roxburgh, landing to Will Hayhurst but is also denied by a scrambling Lebrun Mbeka who threw himself in the way to divert the ball away for a corner.
Spennymoor would have the last chance as Ben Hockenhull whips a ball into the front post with Glen Taylor on the end, but unable to prod the ball home past Cam Mason.
